Ya got a 230v receptacle to plug it into?

I'm getting my garage rewired for a/c on Friday and asked for a 220 outlet along with 2 20 amp 110 outlets along with the wiring for the a/c. Is there a certain type of outlet I should ask for?

Ask for one that matches the 220 plug ya buy.
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

YES, have em match the one ya buy for the PP.:D

I just completed the install of my second DIY PowerPro upgrade. There have been a number of changes/improvements since Aug 2010 when I received the 9th PowerPro DVR upgrade shipped.

My first PowerPro had some issues but Shopsmith was on top of it. My second one runs as smooth as a PowerPro should run. I lucked out as Lowe's just so happened to have a 18-month no interest special and I hold a retired military ID card for an additional 10% off. So my DIY Powerpro will cost me only $2.40 cents a day. I just won't buy coffee in the morning anymore.
One Greenie, Two Mark 7s,Three 510s and much more…

In my opinion you want an adapter, that allows you to go back to 110 without modification.

I had my electrician make a 220 Male to 120 female cord about 10 feet long. Just be careful you only plug in your PowerPro or Laptop most other things will fry. I then attached it to my PowerPro 120 volt cord with a velcro "lock" and I intend to put on a big yellow sticker warning it is 220.

NEMA 6-15R Receptacle.(Hubbell 5662(15A) or 5462(20A)


NEMA 6-15P Plug male for adapter and to mate the receptacle.(Hubbell 5666vy)

NEMA 5-15R Receptacle for adapter to mate to PP plug.(Hubbell 5969vy)
