Here is a photo of a recent editorial in the Local paper. Not one, but 20 taxes in the Act. If you enlarge the photo (ctrl +) several times you can read it. (Remember "ctrl 0" will get the page back to normal.

I love the part about this law requiring several thousand new IRS agents but doesn't have any money for them.

Thanks for the links.I agree, the numbers in my post do not match the info posted in your links.

I'm not sure the Congressional Research Service's info can be taken at face value either. Like most things related to government, there are too many things that influence their findings and what is actually given to the public to inform themselves.

I said in another thread that it is almost a full time job trying to fact check everything so an educated decision can be made on an important issue such as the topic of this thread.Too much conflicting info. I guess my 'government trust gene' has been tainted.

I will no longer cloud the decision process with unfounded/unproven info.

The fact that your health-care went up in cost after 2010 is neither proof that the increase was caused by ObamaCare nor proof that the increase would not have been greater without it.

The letters included with the rate increase were very clear as to why my rate went up, it was for additional services (partly listed in previous messages) REQUIRED by ObamaCare. One specific one I forgot is the requirement to allow children under 26 be to including in my family plan without regard to preexisting conditions., even though I have NO children on my plan.

Those are elective programs except preventive care. Why would you not want preventive care. Are there any "mandatory services"?

They are no longer elective, I must take and pay for them even if they don't apply to me. As for preventive care, it was way cheaper for me to pay for preventive care myself then how much my insurance went up to pay for the benefit. There is nothing free, and the insurance company makes a profit on this preventive care requirement.

WOW that is a bundle for health insurance. You've been retired for a while now. Did you opt out of the company health plan.

Not eligible for company retirement health plan until I am eligible for Medicare.

More then I have if Social Security goes belly up. Who said I would invest in "the market", I am invested in IPO's, commercial real-estate, gold, oil, stocks domestic and international way broader then "the market". Even with all the ups and down in the stock market over the long term is has beat any other investment hands down. Also it was never a you must invest in the market it was always you could opt to invest your own money. If you are worried keep it in cash, you only lose at the rate of inflation.

There are four well known fact checking groups on the Internet, one large right leaning, one large left leaning and two small ones who try to be unbiased. In the past most of the time all four mostly agreed but for the first time as we get close to the elections I am seeing huge bias and it is getting difficult to know what to trust anyone. The main stream media is just as bad instead of reporting the news we are getting outright biased news. 15 minutes before the Robert's decision he was a biased villain out to destroy US health-care, 15 minutes after the decision he was the most brilliant legal scholar in decades.
