Jointer shields upgrade problem

Jointer shields upgrade problem
Template "A" that was sent to me with my jointer upgrade places the left hole in a position that has you drilling into a corner of the casting, preventing the production of a through hole that can be tapped. Didn't notice until it was too late and have had to make another hole on that side to accomodate the second screw. Not good to put too many holes into a casting. Watch out for this when you make the upgrade. Could be there are variations in the lower part of the casting against which the template is aligned, that were not accounted for during production of the template.

Are you implying that they should have 'hind' sight?:rolleyes:
Didn't happen with the caster upgrade!:(

Been waiting for my jointer dust collector upgrade for months now. Maybe it's on the way now. Thanks for the heads up on the drilling issue.
