Hiding in a Joshua Tree.
That one is no longer in the desert but rather closer to the ocean and Mexico.wiredone wrote:just thought I would share

I was too tired to take pictures. I made two stops and it was pretty crowded in my truck with two 520's and goodies.

A couple of the things that caught my eye were the Stronghold chuck and the Universal Tool Rest shown above. My question for the turners out there is how many chucks do you need? I currently have a couple of scroll chucks and one of the Grizzly independent 4 jaw chucks. I also have a UTR so this one will have to go to pay for other toys.

I knew I should have jumped on that the other day!! When it showed for $600 (I also knew that SWMBO would have jumped on me had I done it.) Glad to see it went to a good home.
As far as how many chucks? Count the number of jaw sets you have. Changing jaws gets to be tedious quickly and can be inconvenient. I wish I had at least 2 more.
PM me about the UTR, if the price is right....

I like it but I don't think that would work....my SWMBO might balk at me buying 7 more Stronghold chucks!:eek:terrydowning wrote:$*&*(^

As mine balks at me for even considering 1 more.
HER: "You already have one of those!"
ME: "Yes, but it would be so much easier for me if had another just like it so I could put a different set of jaws on it."
HER: "But you already have one of those and you can change the jaws. THAT'S why we bought that one with all of the jaws remember??!"
ME: "Yes But..."
HER: "But nothing, make the changes like you said you would, you know we can't afford that"
ME: "Yes Dear" while thinking to myself "I hate it when I get trapped in my own logic."
Just the way it is sometimes.
I'm actually very thankful that the LOML is so very intelligent and thrifty.
