I have quite a bit of scrap Corian and have been attempting to glue it together to make patterns based on different colors. I haven't had too much luck; the joints often fail. I was on another site recently and someone said that since it is an acrylic, maybe PVC glue will weld it together like it welds the PVC pipe.
So I tried it. After two hours cure time, I took off the clamp and threw it on the ground and it stayed in tact. I cut it with my band saw and it stayed in tact. I hit it with a hammer on the joint and it remained in tact. I drilled through the seam as I would to make a pen blank and it remained in tact. All of these (short of the hammer) caused my other joints to fail.
I don't have any brass tubes at the moment so I haven't tried to turn it yet, but I will be getting some tubes within a week so that is the next test.
Gluing corian for Pen turning

I may have spoke too soon. I should have done one thing at a time. At the same time I used the PVC glue, I also started using wet sand paper mounted on a flat surface to to make the surfaces true. I also used the same procedure with thin and medium CA glue. I took the clamps off of them and they were just as strong as the PVC glue. So I took the PVC blank that I drilled and hit it with the hammer again and it finally failed. the seem was clean so it did not weld the surfaces together.
It was worth a try!
