I has a 3 inch and a 5 inch pulley.
So is the 5 inch on the motor and the 3 inch on the cutter?
This would be normal to me as to increase the cutter head speed.

Yes, the 5" on the motor and the 3" on the cutterhead. My planer which was used came with it, so I don't know better. I imagine it can only be a good thing. More cuts per inch can't be bad, can it?
Versus a 1:1 ratio wouldn't it now turn 1.67:1.
The upgrade is on sale through midnight tonight.
