Did you know that the only place housework comes before woodworking is in the dictionary? Jim

No, didn't know that! My wife figures the opposite.

It was actually my bride who pointed that out to me. Now I need to figure out if she said that; Because the same is true of sewing, I am lousy at housework or because in one more week I am officially retired and she doesn't want me under foot.

It makes no difference! Once you are officially retired you will find you don't have time for many things you did while working.
However, the list of things "to do" will grow MUCH faster than you can accomplish them.
So - a bit premature welcome to retiree-ville! Bet you will wonder where you ever found time to work - most of us do.

Don't worry. It goes away real quick. It won't be long and you won't even remember that you once left home every morning and went somewhere you did not really want to go. Don't fight it.fixit wrote:It makes no difference! Once you are officially retired you will find you don't have time for many things you did while working.

Whatever you do, don't try to relive the old life. Don't take a job just to kill time. You won't need it. Believe me.
Don 't watch TV. It gets real depressing. Especially the news channels.

Boy if that's not the truth. I have been retired two years now, still not caught up with things I want to do. My wife is real good not to expect me to do the house work.fixit wrote: So - a bit premature welcome to retiree-ville! Bet you will wonder where you ever found time to work - most of us do.

Jim,
Welcome to the world of the retired, or semi-retired in my case. I've been in this condition for 8 years now, and LOVE it! I've got a part-time job that I really enjoy (I work with a group of guys that dump the ego and truely work together), but the best part is the flexible schedule.
(Yeah, I'm expected to do some things around the house.....made the mistake of letting SWMBO know that I'm a pretty good country cook
)
Bud
Enjoy!

In my home housework typically comes before and after woodwork.
That's just the way it is.
