She has three very shallow drawers in her vanity. The slides are only 3/4 slides and the bottom is very slick. Invariably things would slide to the back of the drawers and frustration ensues. She has looked and looked for some kind of organizer to put in there but at only 1 3/8" deep, everything out there was too tall.
Redoing the drawers to be taller is not in the budget as is replacing the slides. I can't even figure out how to get the drawers out

So after some measurements and a few thoughts, I came up with this.

I used the bandsaw to rip and resaw a 3/4" red oak board from the off cuts pile.
Width is 12 7/8" length is 13 1/2" depth is 1 3/8"
Dadoes are one blade width thick from sliding compound miter saw spaced 1 inch apart from the 3 1/2" to 10 1/2".
I had the same issues as Dusty with regard to resawing. Impatience was my nemesis. I do need a better resaw blade which would help. but mostly I found the feed rate to be my big issue. I found if I used very light pressure with the tip of one finger to feed the board, the result was acceptable and easily sanded.
This is basically a bottomless box with the front and rear cross pieces nailed into the side pieces. and friction fit into the drawer.
Sides are 1/4" thick to accommodate the dadoes, front and back pieces are 3/16", removable dividers are a bit shy of 1/8" thick. Some of the dividers are a bit shy of the 1 3/8" drawer height as I ran out of board to rip down. The remaining piece at a bit more than 1 inch does the job though. Finish is 2 coats of Deft spray lacquer.
I did three of these for the three small drawers in my wife's vanity.
Her response: Wow, you didn't have to build it so nice, just some boards is all I needed.
When the LOML is happy, everyone is happy.
