I get a kick out of some things that she now feels are mine to accomplish. Example: Coffee in the morning. I make the coffee and I serve the first two cups and don't dare try to avoid it. She waits for her morning coffee.

I was physically laid up for nearly 3 years. During that time, my wife did every thing that needed to be done in and around the house. When I once again became mobile, there were certain things that "became mine" to do. Now that I have recovered, nothing has reverted.

I need to confess that like Dusty I have set chores. I wash most dirty dishes in our house. I also help with laundry and cleaning. Like Dusty my bride cared for me while I was crippled and I rather enjoy doing chores. I love the expressions of dinner guests when I get up from dinner table, remove and stack dirty dishes and have them in dishwasher before anyone else leaves the table. Only one male guest has ever pointed out that my behavior is unappreciated as he has no desire to do such demeaning chores. Knowing his bride I'll bet he is doing them now.

Been retired for more than 8 years. Wife developed MS, Lupus, epilepsy and a whole host of other stuff about the time of retirement. Now, I'm Mister Mom and woodworking and other great chores and joys are when you get around to it. I'm primarily a caregiver. But, it's a great joy when I get a chance to get out there and do it.
Live for those moments.

I just love it when she says I can go make sawdust.

When I retired my wife informed me:
She married me "for better or for worse, but not for lunch."
Therefore, I spend a lot of time in the garage.
