Looks like they added a lightening rod on His head this time.

Being in Ohio, and watching this story unfold, I just don't know what to think. I had a sister in law that went to the church for a while so I know all about the statue.

When they built it originally, the artist messed up with the materials used. They were in the process of evaluating how to fix it as it was coming apart on the outside, not the steel. It was going to take over a quarter mil to fix it properly and the artist was not going to cover it.

A very short time later, the statue burns, and parishioners say it was struck by lightning. The insurance company pays in full to have it rebuilt, other than a minor deductable, and it is done completely differently, with the new materials.

I try to not be cynical, but it seems they didn't like the touchdown name, or even butter name, so they rebuilt it the way they wanted with insurance backing the costs.

Maybe I just need my head examined haha.
