I bought a jigsaw now what?

I know in another thread someone mentioned they bought a jigsaw. I also have one I bought earlier in the year that I still haven't cleaned up with started to use.

What are the things that I should do to get it into operating condition. I know it takes oil and I think I have the manual from the vintage machinery site.

So my questions are:
- What type of oil should I use, 10W, sewing machine oil?
- Since it takes oil are there precautions that should be taken in climates with cold weather?
- How much oil does it take?
- Are there any pitfalls, i.e. the air tube, gaskets or points of weakness that I should watch out for?
- I have a good source of blades that came with it, but where do I get replacement blades? Since it is discontinued, does Shopsmith offer any
replacement parts or blades?

Anything else I'm missing?

Here's a forum thread that may be of some use to you -- https://forum.shopsmith.com/viewtopic.php?t=11005 -- I found this using the search function and "jigsaw gasket," so you might find some useful information elsewhere on the forum.

I used compressor oil to refill my jigsaw, but I need a new gasket.

As far as blades are concerned, you can use any pinless 5" blades sold for use on jigsaws or scrollsaws. The ones Shopsmith sells are fine. Olson blades are readily available and of decent quality.

Are the blades for the jigsaw the same as the scroll saw?

Pretty much, however there are variations(scroll blades have newer tooth designs).

The pins can be pressed out of coping saw blades(5") and used.
