I guess I will hold off on it. I shouldn't need the adapter after I get the SS chuck and centers. Even the pen mandrel from pen state will work on the shopsmith headstock.

The drive center set includes a 1" - 8 female to female adapter.

The drill chuck includes a 1" - 8 female to 1/2" - 20 male adapter.

Both would require a 5/8" female to 1" -8 male adapter to connect to a shopsmith quill shaft.


Waaaay too many 'adapters'!!!
