I have a couple of these items that came with Shopsmiths. I have not seen it before on any Shopsmith I worked on. What is it and where does it fit. Thanks.

What is it?
You are correct. I checked some of the older lower saw guards with the very small dust collection hole. It looks like it should not come out of the guard unless the glued in pieces are broken. Since I never do any sawing with the Shopsmith, I never used or looked at the saw guards. I will find some use for them on a shop-made jig now that I know what it is. Thanks.
