Transporting Mark VII advice request

Total weight with box is around 50 lbs. Probably less, but I don't remember what it was when I weighed mine.

Don't know about that, I haven't had time to play with mine yet...I'm lucky enough to have a Pick-up, so I laid it on its side to get it home..

I am convinced that moving a Mark x on its legs more than a few feet on a smooth flat floor is asking for major future table alignment trouble.
Seems like placing it on its side, carefully, before transport is a very good idea.
The legs are (at least the old ones like mine) are somewhat feeble.

Interesting. I only moved two Mark V's, a shorty, as well as band saw, planer, jointer and belt sander (all of which reside in separate motorized stands) upright on their wheels about 1,650 miles in a box trailer. I wonder what I did wrong, I had virtually no issues with alignment. I did clean all equipment and wax it after the move. Jim

Any resemblance between Mark 5/V 'legs' and a Mark VII base is irrelevant. The Mark 5/V legs are 'splayed', the Mark VII base is all right angles. I do(and did) think since it is so easy to separate the heavier headstock etc. from the base that that is the best way to 'transport' it.
