A New Printed Catalog Coming???

Post by algale »

Check out the Shopsmith website. If you click the Happy Holidays link, there's several pages of offers including a mention of a new keyless drill chuck; a picture and description of that chuck can be accessed under the drilling category. http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/cata ... _chuck.htm

The chuck is mammoth and has an equally mammoth price tag; but the description for the chuck got my attention because it mentions: "These new chucks were being manufactured especially for us as our recent catalog was being printed."

Wonder if this is just a holiday/specials catalog or a full catalog.

Then why would they say "as our recent catalog was being printed"? Must be something in print to be printed, I'd think. Most likely this is like that catalog that came out a year or so again; 10-20 pages of newer things.

Here is a link to the online version. I do not see many 'bargains'.

Ah for the good old days when they offered sale prices and free shipping around Father's Day and Christmas.:(

I'm sorta excited, Beeg. About as excited as one can get over a paper catalog that is about 1/4th the size of the 2008 catalog. Then there is the issue of prices. If those are sales prices.....well,....

Did you see this when you click the happy holiday links:

Free $15 Gift Card
...included with all orders over $75
received by December 31st
Enter code HMF-12 in the promo code box of the name and address check-out page
(Limit One Card Per Customer)

The new chuck looks like a monster...with a monster price too. It does appear that it has a greater capacity too though.

Old farts love paper catalogs where they can find what they need. The search function on most websites can't even find the "search" page, let alone anything else. A catalog with an index finds anything effortlessly.

Everything on the 'web' is virtual! Ya cannot see 'it' (in three dimensions), ya cannot feel it, ya cannot smell it, ya cannot taste it(except in our desires).

I have yet to 'stumble' onto something using a web search. Ya either get what ya asked for or a damn did not find message.

Guess that makes me an Old Fart.;) There was never any doubt about the first part.:D
