I'm told the serial number is 516626.

Mark V 510 post 1991.

That sn makes no sense as those produced then had date codes, not sn.

Yeah, that's what I thought too about both the model and serial number but wanted confirmation from the experts.

Well sn 516626 is the part number for the warning label.
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

I'm going to check it out this weekend and will confirm serial number myself. Looks to be in pretty good condition and the price is right.

Yeah, that's not the serial #. My first thought was maybe someone upgraded an older 500 to a 510 but serial #'s pre-date code never went that high. The power switch is the newer type, so I'm sure it's been a 510 all along. Certainly looks clean and in good shape.

Yeah, looks good and comes with a few extra that I don't have such as the Jig-Saw and shaper heads.

Now if I can only get permission from the boss to buy (another) Shopsmith. Thus far I haven't been able to sell her on the advatages of having 2.

I won't ask my wife where the hell all those 800 pairs of shoes came from or what they cost as long as she ignores my ever-growing mass of tools :D
