Interesting, wish they had showed more of his foot crank lathe. I have a SIL that fishes quite a lot. Maybe I could make a lure from an old knife. When the fish took it, it may split it open and clean fish while reeling it in. All that would be left to do would be to cook it. Not sure that would work.....

The lathe itself appears to be a "shorty" version of the Craftsman wood lathe model 113.228160 that was sold some years back. There also were some similar looking lathes made in Asia. I'd image it wouldn't be all that difficult to rig one up to an exercise bike by adapting a new wheel axle that allowed you to attach the step pulley.

That is a kool looking lathe and a neat idea. But I can hear it now somebodies wife will come out and say, what happened to that antique spoon collection I had in the attic.

Yes, fishing and I have drifted apart (no pun intended) but making my own bassarino and spoon plugs might get me to buy a fishing license again. Could be as much fun as turning pens seems to be. I really like his lathe too.
