When you put someone on your ignore list. What does that do?

Actually, it does nothing for anyone other than the individual with the ignore list.

If I want to ignore all of your posts, I put your username on MY ignore list and then none of your posts will be presented to me. Everyone else will see the posts. I will however be given notification that you have posted. If I now want to read what you post, I can take you off of my ignore list.

When I post, as I did today, that I have put someone on the ignore list - it is intended to alert others that I see something that I feel is inappropriate for this forum. Someone trying to utilize the forum for purposes other than those intended. You are left to make your own judgement.
