How long do I need to wait before I can handle them to turn them over so I can spray the other side?

Nice job. I use the Deft spray lacquer, it does dry quick. I spray one coat then lightly rub with 0000 steel wool and spray another coat. Comes out real smooth. They dry faster in this cold weather if you use a heat gun on them.

Here's a clock I made for my boss. He's a huge fan of Apple. He buys everything they make right when they're released. I'm a big Android fan and we're always going back and forth about which is better. Obviously, Android is.

I had a clock kit that I bought several years ago when I was making clocks out of old computer hard drives. It had ornate brass hands. I printed out several templates of various sizes and found one that fit the size of the hands. After that, I must have grabbed the wrong template to use because once I assembled the clock, the hands were too long. The clock couldn't be set on the desk or shelf without the hands hitting the desk/shelf.

I found another clock that had white plastic hands. They were still too long, but I could at least cut those down to size. So that's what I did. I also had to widen the hole in one of the hands to go on the post. Unfortunately, the other clock didn't have a second hand. But, I like the white hands better anyway. They match Apple's design philosophy of simple and clean much better than the ornate brass hands would have.

It was just a scrap block of cedar and some spray poly. I didn't follow the tradition of photographing clocks with the time set to 10:10. I guess that's yet another "oops."
