Thank you VERY much! Makes more sense to me now. I'll get to work on this mod as soon as I finish two Christmas presents that didn't get done on time and make one adjustment on my PowerPro. So many projects - - so little time these days. Being sick for a week didn't help either and I DID take my flu shot - must be a new strain.

It is very gratifying to have you all to take an interest in this. Keep this thread going with your own designs, and modifications. As Iron sharpens Iron, so does one man sharpen another. I am looking forward to seeing and implementing your improvements.

When I got my used shopsmith it came with a collection of woodworking books. Part of the collection is a 15 book series by Nick Engler called 'The Workshop Companion" Google The Workshop Companion and you will see an image of one of the books. Using the Band Saw is the name of the specific book I got this extension table from.

The books in the series are all about 120 pages, lots of pictures, and Includes shopsmith references, but more inclusive to other manufactures. The band saw book inspired this extension table. In the future I will be making a Log Carriage for band Saw Lumbering, a Resawing Pivot, a tilting dove tail worktable/jig, circle jig.

If I add some legs to the corners of my table, I might feel comfortable Reasawing a decent size 3 foot log, kind like this.

I just ordered Using the Band Saw from Amazon.com. I paid $0.16 for the book and $3.99 shipping. It said it was used but like new.
