I'm not sure why but in the last month or so I have been getting outstanding service from the post office. Not only are my packages arriving in just two or three days but many times they deliver them right on my door step with my regular mail instead of in the neighborhood box. On top of that they have delivered after dark on Sundays

Maybe because they're doing studies on closing certain branches? I know we've gotten three separate questionnaires about closing our branch, asking how that would effect us, what we would prefer them to do instead, etc.fredsheldon wrote:I'm not sure why but in the last month or so I have been getting outstanding service from the post office...

I live in the sticks. So far into the "pucker brush" that mail delivery is not even available even if I put up a mail box. No "RFD" (Rural Free Delivery) here. All my mail has to be delivered to a Post Office Box and I have to pick it up. FedEx and UPS are the only services that will deliver to my door. And I'm only 2 miles from the nearest town which has two separate Post Offices.dgale wrote:Interesting - I've never heard of them doing this. Do folks that have this happen live in a particularly rural or remote location? I live in a small town that is 5 hours from anything of significance and UPS (and FedEx) always delivers right to my door, unless someone sends something to my PO Box instead of my street address and then it's a whole different matter.

Wow. I live 9 miles from our current "local" post office. They want to close that one and move us to one 20 miles away, even though there's another one they are keeping open that is just 8 miles away the opposite direction.anmius wrote:I live in the sticks. I had an interesting experience. Around Christmas time I sent a greeting card to a buddy that lives probably a mile from us. What I didn't know was he was having all mail forwarded to his place in Ga. Three days later I got an email from him thanking me for the card. We mailed it on Monday he got it after being forwarded on Wednesday. The post office had it less than 48 hours since our mail pickup was late Monday and his delivery is early morning. Plus it had to be forwarded!!!!!
