shop band saw addition

Post by chuckc »

have been looking for a SS band saw SPT for a while now both CL and E-bay.

there seems to be an abundance of them on E-bay but I noticed a couple of things in the listings alread.

!. The label with Model and SS # photos apear that the label has been peeled off and re- glues to the saw. Kinda makes one skeptical of a tool that has a label like that and claims to be in the late 1980's vintage.

Other thing is there is one with the original box it came in but the owners manual is for a different model band saw. HMm ?

the saw appears to be model #555507 and the manual is #505641

Just a little skecptical i guess.

The later labels had a tendency to peel off.

Very few changes have been made over the years. The only major one is the table from CI to larger aluminum.

All older version can be 'brought up to date' if desired.:)

Tis 'possible' the manual did not come with the one in the box and the seller is just being helpful. Good to be wary though! Ask em!;)

If this be the one, I would not be too concerned. It looks fairly good and the price is right(for a while anyway). It will probably go for much more at the last minute. Wait until then to bid!

Shipping seems reasonable (to here anyway).

Thanks,
Just seems strange that the label looks like it was peeled off.
I do think the aluminum table is a plus.

So long as the bearings and tires are ok.
