Mr. Bill needs our support

Post by swampgator »

Mr. Bill Mayo would greatly appreciate any communication you send him. Just talked with him via PM's on Friday. He broke a bone in his right foot just about Thanksgiving. He's had adverse reactions to his meds and would love to hear from everyone. Let's make his day. ;)

Every time I go to Florida I make a point to stop by and see Bill & his lovely wife, Ann. Bill has quite an operation going in his work shop. Health issues he has battled and continued to win. If you want to learn anything about the Mark V, Bill can tell you. He also used to build Ford racing engines and has more stories than almost anyone else I know. I never have enough time to spend and have learned things about the Shopsmith you will not find published anywhere.

He's not far from Tampa in Plant City, Florida. I hope to have half the energy he has right now. He graduated high school the year I was born.

Thanks for the heads up. A posting from Bill recently left me with the feeling he isn't well. I have emailed him. Jim

Bill,

Getting old ain't all it is cracked up to be. The only benefit to it as I see it are the senior discounts and it is better than the alternative!

Praying for you to get better soon.

I finally got my ceramic guides installed. I have had them for a while but was waiting until I got my double bearing upgrade done. Thanks for the great price and service.

Thanks for many prayers and encouragements I have received lately. Being unable to play in my shop for past month or so had really depressed me again. I am finally able to spent about an hour a couple days last week in my shop.

I have been battling Alzheimer for the past 2 years and was slowly losing the battle to where I was no longer spending any time in my shop this past summer. However late summer, my doctor added a second pill, Namenda, which has allowed my motivation and outlook on life to be greatly improved. A recent brain scan and MRI shows no additional changes so it appears I am good for another year before doing it again. I am offering some reconditioned and rebuilt Shopsmith assemblies and parts on Ebay (billstoolz) again.
