When your A #1 job is as a caretaker, you spend a lot of time waiting for the next 'need'.

That waiting allows spending most of the time doing something that is easily 'interrupted'.

This forum(and others) fits perfectly. Add the 'extended' hours and you have an 'explanation'.

A review of my caffeine schedule is as follows:

One cup (actually a mug) consumed during first half hour after waking up.

A second cup something shortly after finishing the first cup.

No coffee consumed after that second cup until the next day.

BTW No soda, health drinks, energy drinks, etc. consumed in a typical day.

Excess caffeine is not to blame for my early awakenings. I am an old country boy who has never out grown the habit of getting up before sunrise to do the chores. Fortunately, there are no chickens to feed, no hogs to slop and no cows to hand milk.

I can see and handle being up at 5 or 5:30 anytime, but 2-3 and 4 are tooo early. If I got up that early to work the farm and feed the animals, there would be mistakes. I'd be sloppin cows, feedin hogs and milkin chickens. You ever seen a chicken gettin milked? Can't be pretty, and udderly ridiculous.

Funny story
One summer we were on vacation and we stopped that my in laws house at the beginning and told them we would stop back on the return trip.
When we left their house to continue our journey all was well.

However when we returned on the way back you could see things were different.

Apparently my father in law had tried to put a balling band on a young bull himself.

He was beat up standing there covered with cuts, scratches and a black eye, looking sheepishly as my mother in law told the story. Apparently the process turned into a huge wrestling match between the bull and my father in law. It must have been something because she said my father in laws clothes were half rip off and it raised a cloud of dust so thick that no one could not see a thing.

I asked if he got the band on. That is when my father in law in a very high pitched tone said he got it on something but he wasn't sure it was the young bull.

We all laughed until our sides hurt.
