Just ordered the SS basic set...

... from ebay for $21 shipped. Great condition and comes with a set of Allied twist bits. I was looking at the Lee Valley bits and Highland Woodworking carbide bits.

What is the quality like on the SS brad point bits? I figured they would be better than the black and decker super cheep twist drills I currently abuse. Maybe I'll get the Highland set later as I need smaller bits or buy just a few Lee Valley bits for the most critical holes in sizes I use a lot. I noticed the Lee Valley set of 12 runs only up to 1/4" so the SS bits would cover the larger common sizes.

Anyhow, let me know how these SS bits compare with other bits if you have used them along side common and up scale bits.

Thanks, Seth
