Sanding Question
Does Shopsmith make something to connect the disc sander to a dust collection system. I am not having any luck finding something on the Shopsmith web site.
How about this?

Thanks again.
Search skills or sanding disk??
I use the lower saw guard that fits my 510 and it works well with the Shopsmith DC but isn't very effective with my Shopvac. The Shopvac doesn't move enough air.

I tried the lower saw guard and the sanding disc would not go into it. I guess Shopsmith must have redesigned the thing at some point. The 10" saw blade will go in but the 12" sanding disc will not. Oh well, it's only money.....
I found an old issue of Wood magazine with a plan for a dust collector that I plan to make sometime this spring.

The older aluminum disk will not fit. The blade guard needs to be opened fully. There is potential interference inside.
The pre 510 guard will not work. The 500 chute is used only from the side of the table.

There are a couple of pieces that need to be removed/altered.terryvance wrote:Mine is steel but still does not fit.
When I get a chance, I will take pix to 'illustrate'.
The steel disk needs to have the longer hub.
