I am removing mine ,Kreg, from my conventional BS, drilling and tapping as needed.to put on my SS. I am so pleased with the SS one, the other is being sold- I can do that in comfort because I have the SS jigsaw.mt

Butch,
Here are the pics. I hope they are of help to you. If the holes that I have pointed out don't have threads you may want to contact Shopsmith. You are going to really like this fence.

THANK YOU! for the great pics. I printed them off and double checked my bandsaw. I'll call SS. My table has the tapped holes on the outfeed side of the table, none on the infeed side. Not sure why, as I've stayed up with all the upgrades since I bought my SS in 1980. Hope to get out of Puget Sound in a couple of weeks and spend a few days in your neck of the woods. Hope it's WARM! !
Thanks again,
Butch
Thanks again,

I bit the bullet and bought one as well. Will let everyone know how it goes when it gets here.dusty wrote:Butch,
I don't think so, really thought you would have heard from one of the forum guys who has installed one by now.
Don't do anything rash.
You did buy this through Shopsmith, correct. If not all guesses are off.
But first I have to figure out why my table lock isn't locking...more later.

I just assembled my bandsaw and Kreg fence this weekend. The holes in my table were not tapped. According to the SS portion of the fence manual "the bolts are self-threading and are pre-lubricated with a tapping wax."
They went in just fine, just be sure they are aligned with the hole when you start cranking them in.

Thanks for getting the correct information out to the folks trying to install a Kreg fence. I am having overlapping senior moments so all should take my instructions with a grain of salt in the future.

So even though the hole isn't threaded the self-threaded bolts "screw" in? Interesting. Is there something on the backside to keep it from coming out like a nut or something else.horologist wrote:I just assembled my bandsaw and Kreg fence this weekend.
