Cars are just one example. I've sold lawn equipment, garage equipment, old car and bike parts, off-road toys, guns (not on CL), hunting and camping gear, canoes, you name it. All had the same problems to differing extents with the pool of buyers I was getting. But then again, where I live might just have an abnormal level of people like that. Hoarding before the  upcoming collapse of society  is a big problem out here.

By far the worst thing I ever sold on CL was my then gf's wedding ring from a previous marriage. Never again will I be insulted by the pawn shops offer on jewelry.

Funny, I was thinking the location thing too. Probably the amount of competition you have for items matters too. When items are overpriced they sit around for months and get re-listed again and again, but the low price items often have a run on them.

I think people in my area are willing to travel within the metro, but not willing to go to cities outside the metro. I've said it before, but I picked up a scroll saw that had minor interest until the price was dropped in half and then the seller told me he had 11 emails of the day of the price drop. It was located in the main city. However, 6 months earlier I saw a machine that was 30 minutes outside the city get no interest and last on CL for months. The buyer came on here at one point and mentioned he got it for $175.00 for what appeared to be a near new 510. The original price was $350 and it was one of the newest 510s I've seen listed.

I looked at a machine that was just outside the city last April that had minimal interest even though it had probably a $1,000 worth of accessories including a brand new Forest WW1 blade and Dado set. The guy told me the only interest he had was me and one other fellow who was flakey. If I wanted I probably could have sold enough accessories to make it free, but I'd rather use them.

If anything can be learned from buying items on Craigslist is that you shouldn't love your items so much you never use them. What good is that $100 blade if you never use it. Wish these types of situation came around often.

This one is a bit confusing.

The pictures, while plentiful, do not help his case. And he seems to either think Sears made Shopsmiths or the Craftsman lathe is part of the Shopsmith. No mention of any accessories, which is typical.

That ones pretty good. Here's another don't run too fast. Guarantee the person looked up a new cabinet saw for the value. Didn't I say something about having a nickel every time this happens.

I admit I'm not exactly sure what I am looking at here, but I think better pictures would help.

Gotta love how the justification for the price is it is "almost new" Doesn't matter that it is 20 years old. "New" must be a relative term...20 years is relatively new versus the time humans have walked the earth.

Almost everything is new, just used for 10 hours, barely touched.

My big issue are those CL posts that say do not email. Where in Hades do they think they are advertising?
