New Jig Saw

Just purchased a new SS Jigsaw. Wondered if anyone has seen any videos on setup and use. I have all the manuals etc that it originally came with but I'm better at seeing things than reading about how things are done. The unit has never been used so I need to put everything together and set up. Any recommendation on blades?

I haven't a clue. I don't own a jigsaw. Congrats on your purchase and good luck with the setup. Hope you enjoy it.

PS: Please post some pictures. I did not know that Shopsmith had reintroduced the Jig Saw. Oh, I just reread the post. Maybe it is a "new" old jig saw like this.

Video - haven't seen any, but as for blades, the scroll saw blades work. 5" pinless blades you can get them at pretty much any hardware store or from Shopsmith too. It you get the pin you can use them, but you have to break off the pins first. 10w weight machine oil/sewing oil/turbine oil should be put into the machine. The gaskets often dry out and they often can leak oil - it is par for the course with the jigsaw. However, you can removed the top arm and cut some really big items if you can balance it on the small table it has.

A basic question here is: Is it a scroll or a jig saw.(not to question your use of the term 'jig saw', but many do confuse the two).

Yes it is a Magna Jigsaw. What is so amazing to me is it is literally never been assembled and no sign of any wear.
