Help indentifying this Mark V

Here is my revived Mark V. It came with no serial numbers. Can anyone here help me figure out when this thing was made?

Gonna be some 'comments' regarding the size of the linked to pix!

'It' appears to be a recolored greenie(B headstock). May be parts from different units.

I resized the pic.

This thing has an 1 1/8 emerson motor inside and the gilmer drive. Any idea what year it was made?

It was built somewhere between 1953 and 1960. Sometime later someone upgraded the motor.

Without a serial number, more is difficult. It is a Model 500 but its motor is of the wrong vintage to be original unless it is one of the later units produced. The 1 1/8hp motor was introduced in 1962 and paint color changed in 1963. It is red but you say it is really a greenie in disguise. Beyond that and what this chart might tell you, the rest is supposition.

I suspect that at the end of a production run what came off the line might be a conglomeration of whatever parts were in inventory. Example: A greenie with a 1 1/8hp motor. The poly-v was due to be introduced about the same time as the 1 1/8hp motor but you have a gilmer drive. I will stick with a late model 1962 - early model 1963 Johnny
Cash version.

I will stick with my initial assertion that it may contain parts from different units. (the motor being one of them)

The actual 'date' / sn is of minor significance. The only thing not determined(yet) is the drive a Gilmer or a Poly-v. The bench tube od needs to be verified(likely 1 7/8").

To 'sum up':

It is a Mark 5 Greenie.

It has a "B" headstock casting.

It has a Greenie/early Goldie main table.

It has a 1 1/8hp motor(not likely 'original').

It has been repainted(;)).

It has a jointer in need of a couple of parts.

It has a saw dust collec ... uh er interesting home brew storage shelf.

There is a Band Saw lurking.

That's it off the top of my head.

I picked it up for $250. It was rusty and stuck. The speed dail was jammed. The jointer fence was stuck, with the handle broken off holding the fence in place. It had been beaten into position.

The jointer is a little wonky, and needs a new quandrant assembly and handle assembly. Luckily, I got a rusty old craftsman 40 103.2067 for free off of craigslist yesterday. It cleaned up real nice. Only needed a new belt and table.

That what I figured he meant. Probably the one about sneaking out the car parts and building a car out of many different pieces.
