non shopsmith tool question

I need some kinda water pump.

I have a pool and in corners are small bits of plaster that I want to remove.

I don't want to use the pool vacuum system, don't want all that stuff going through the system.

I have a submersible sump pump, but that is not quite right as it pulls water through small slots, it's designed to empty a pool of water and not pick up the debris.

What I want is a pump that will suck up like say a 2" amount, that will discharge out into wherever.

Kinda like a shop vac size, I have a wet/dry shop vac. but I am not sure putting the 2 inch wand in the pool would even work.

any ideas?

I use a wet/dry vac to suck the water out of a toilet to remove stuff dropped in that is creating a blockage. Works pretty good.

Are you trying to remove the plaster bits without emptying the whole pool? If so, you'll probably need a pretty big and powerful vac to pull a 6' to 8' water column to the surface.

So, you're pool doesn't have a liner?

here in Arizona, among other places there are few liners with pools. Gunite is used.
Mabe I'll try to do as you say, just suck out with the wand. the pool is a lap pool so only 4 foot pull is necessary

yea, that didn't work, hose kinks, too much height, wife helping.

don't know, I think a 2 inch intake on a submersible might be the answer.

I'm not getting this picture. Is the water too cold to just go diving? If so, wait three or four weeks. If you can't wait, have a teenage pool party and offer food and drink coupons at the local sports bar to anyone who can bring up the debris. Guys with girls present can/will do it, even if the water is cold.

OR

Sweep it all to one end of the pool (in a corner) and use a dust pan on a broom stick

Yea, not thinking clearly, have case of the shingles and meds effecting brain. Low tech like dusty said. I used a pooper scooper, got in the 3foot water at temp. Of 86 degrees and scooped it up.
