Holy cow. Let me try to remember. I enlisted in the Air Force during Vietnam. Ended up serving a career which included Desert Storm. Was offered and took advantage of every opportunity presented to me. PCS'd a lot as a result.

It's amazing how public opinion has changed over the years. We'd be called names and threatened with bodily harm for wearing our uniforms during the Vietnam years. We had no choice when traveling.

Now we're thanked for our service. One of my friends went back home to DC in uniform after surviving Vietnam with no serious injuries.. He ended up in the hospital after a group of "peace" activists beat the living daylights out of him and left him for dead.

I have purposefully omitted details out and some places. Made it to master sergeant in record time and retired as an officer.

Had shotgun slugs within inches of my head- sounded like those zooom rings we got in Cracker Jack boxes & blew in.

Got to go to a Navy tech school and played double deck pinochle everyday at lunch time where it was Air Force vs Navy- Navy never had a chance. :-P

Made life-long friendships and have lost some really good friends before their time. Never stayed anywhere for very long.

Assignments:
Lackland AFB, TX
Keesler AFB, MS
McGuire AFB, NJ
Goodfellow AFB, TX
Lowry AFB, CO
Iraklion Air Station, Crete
Rhine Mein AB, Germany
Bad Aibling Station, Germany
Corry Station, FL
RAF Chicksands, UK
Medina Annex Lackland AFB, TX
Pease AFB, NH
Lowry AFB, CO
Maxwell AFB, AL

Other bases TDY: Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ; Scott AFB, IL; Travis AFB, Beale AFB, CA; Barksdale AFB, LA;Kirkland AFB, NM; Peterson AFB, Buckley AFB, CO; Francis E. Warren AFB, WY; Laughlin AFB, TX; Tinker AFB in OK; Wright-Patterson AFB, OH; Plattsburgh AFB, Stewart AFB, NY; Hanscom AFB, MA; Langley AFB, VA; Hurlburt Field, Eglin AFB, MacDill AFB, FL; Ft George Meade, Andrews AFB, MD; RAF Alconbury, RAF Croughton, RAF Mildenhall, RAF Lakenheath, RAF Greenham Common, UK; Aviano AB, USAG Vicenza, Italy; Hellenikon AB , Souda Bay NATO Base, Greece; Lajes AFB, Azores; Torrejon AB, Spain; Yokota AB, Misawa AB, Japan; Air Force Academy and West Point service academies.

Been inside the Great Pyramid and on the top level of the Eiffel Tower and many, many other places. Seen the Rosetta Stone, Big Ben, and too many things to list.

I joined the Air Force and saw the world.
