Did anyone see Nick Engler?
There was a program on the Military Channel tonight about the group rebuilding the Wright Brothers' airplane. I didn't get to see it, but I'm guessing Nick would have been on there. Did anyone catch it??
'55 Greenie #292284 (Mar-55), '89 SS 510 #020989, Mark VII #408551 (sold 10/14/12), SS Band Saw, (SS 500 #36063 (May-79) now gone to son-in-law as of 11-11), Magna bandsaw, Magna jointer 16185 (May-54), Magna belt sander SS28712 (Dec-82), Magna jigsaw SS4397 (Dec-78), SS biscuit joiner, Zyliss (knockoff) vise, 20+ hand planes, 60s Craftsman tablesaw, CarbaTec mini-lathe, and the usual pile of tools. Hermit of the Hills Woodworks, a hillbilly in the foothills of the Ozarks, scraping by.
I watched it and looked for him but didn't see him. He wasn't mentioned in the credits either unless I missed it.

Did Anyone See Nick
I agree that we miss Nick BUT
do we miss having the Sawdust Sessions just as much as we miss Nick?
I do! I used to really look forward to that Saturday morning when I could log on and get a 1 hour dose of sawdust. The live sessions, along with the chat room, were great.
The only thing that would have been better would have been to have a live video session (utube like session) where we could see who was in the chat room.
If something of this nature could be brought back with an admission fee, would anyone watch them?
What if the admission fee was an online order for something (anything) from Shopsmith?

Yes, but I believe Nick is involved on an ongoing basis. I would not be surprised to see Nick at any Wright Brothers activity.woodburner wrote:The above-mentioned show about the Wright Bros. featured a different group involved with studying that part of history. The program that featured Nick was made several years ago and was shown on PBS.
