Mark 5 / V Owners Manual Revisons

I got a 21 page "Owners manual" with Dad's Shopsmith. I found what looks like a s/n on the lower spindle on the upper side of the headstock: SS11288.
I also found the invoice for the purchase, has the month and day but no year though I think it's early to mid 80's.

It's a Mark V, on the back cover it has Bulletin # 504286 and a date of 6/76. I don't find anything else indicating a date on it.

Hey, I also own a '62 goldie and would love a copy of your manual if possible. Also looking for manual for period band saw and jig saw. Any help/advice greatly appreciated.

Is it safe to assume that everyone is aware of the pdf manual that is available online?

I also assume that you are all aware that these manuals are copyrighted and that many of them are available for purchase via the online service or by calling customer service.

A Mark V manual is not what a 1962 Goldie owner desires! That be an excellent reference however since it contains much more than the 'original' 1962 version.

Now my 1962 Goldie manual does indeed have a teeny tiny Copyright 1957 printed on the back page, I am not aware of any availability from SS Inc. of this document. Perhaps they never acquired the copy rights??? In any event it be almost a half century old and I have no qualms forwarding a pdf of it go anyone who needs it! If that be upsetting to a legitimate copyright holder, I will be more than happy to stop and desist!!:)

A Goldie comes in two versions. The earlier version is the same as a Greenie - 3/4hp motor, Gilmer belt, 1 7/8" bench tubes, cast in table front, rubber coupler. The later version has the 1 1/8hp motor, poly-v drive, 1 3/4" bench tubes, extruded table front rail, zytel coupler.

Both came with an aluminum 12" sanding disk. and were 9" saws.

They are indeed almost identical to a '500', and vary mainly in those areas SS INC. changed for whatever reason.

Magna-American is I believe the producer of the smooth gray mark 5's. SS Inc, created the Mark V identity when they started production, and created a 500 label when the later 505/510 was introduced to distinguish it from them.

The Mark V pdf on line would probably(I have only skimmed over it) be adequate for most needs, but having an original 'version' has appeal!

Trying to find out how many different Mark 5 / V owners manuals were published.

Can you provide these 4 bits of info found on your manual. I included info mine.

1. Model - Mark 5
2. Revision - TMG-3469A-84 (0)-P-7B* (mine doesn't state revision but I think this is the rev designator. It's found on the front cover on mine.)
3. Copyright - 1954
4. Catalog No. / Manual part number - EM?9100-A-M?-8-55 (? = can't read)

If you already see a post with your info exactly, don't post yours in order to help keep the thread clean. This doesn't mean you can't post discussion stuff but just don't post duplicate manual info if you can help it.

I have three Mark V's but only two of the manual's with me:
1st: Model Mark V 510, PL-5116 Rev. 3/86 Copyright 1986. It is 160 pages total without accessories.
2nd: Model Mark V 510, PL-5121 Rev. 6/88 Copyright 1988. It is 100 pages total without accessories.

My other Mark V is a 2006 Model 505, as I said the manual is at home but looking at the two I have here it seems they are making them smaller and leaving out a lot of good information. The older revision had service and repair procedures which are not in the newer revision.
