Interesting saw blade

Post by mgbbob »

I recently purchased a 5/8" arbor and saw blade through ebay. I was intested in the package because I noticed the wording Forrest on the blade. When it arrived I found out the Forrest was a blade stablizer which made the purchase a great deal but that is where it got interesting. When I removed the stablizer I found the name Kowaleski W/C 10/40 engraved on the blade.

I figure there can't be that many Shopsmith users with that name that engrave the saw blades. There must be some history out there somewhere. No brand on the blade but it is a 40 tooth and appears to be sharp. I haven't tried it out yet.

The name may be the name of the person that made the blade. My saw sharpener use to make blades so I would guess many still do.
