Got zero work done in the garage this weekend, but do have pics from a slight detour from my detour. Took the canoes out for a half day float and a little fishing. Took one vehicle (by design) and had a 2 1/2 mile hike back to the truck. I guess you could call it a hillbilly triathalon.
All loaded up at the put-in. These were heavily used canoes and we re-laminated with just resin and didn't bother with pigment, that's why the color looks odd.

First chance to try out my new micro-lite setup I scrounged at the outlet store. This little sunfish hit at about 40 ft away and felt like a 10 lbs bass on such light tackle. The rod was bending like that from the beginning, we had a good laugh when I brought it up. Caught a few tiny bluegill and smallmouth, and saw a few water snakes.

Dolomite glade on top of a high bluff about a third of the way through the hike back. Hard to tell because of the trees but the river is about 100 ft below. You can just make it out over the tree line in the first pic. It was too dark for pics the rest of the hike, but ran across an armadillo, a tarantula, two angry copperheads, and a most likely rabid opposum that was not afraid of large rocks.
