Jacob Anderson produced a very good DVD on repair of the Mark V. I've known Jacob for many years and find his work beyond reproach. Check his ad on E-Bay.

There's that east/west coast thing! There's that $ thing. We be trying to encourage him to DIY since it appears to require a simple 'fix'.

I have not viewed the DVD, but have no doubt it is excellent!

i can fix anything wrong with a shopsmith.
My normal business is High Speed packaging machines and meat processing equipment, in relation any shopsmith repair is an easy repair no matter what is wrong with it.

OK, I will give it a try myself. I really appreciate all the comment, encouragement, and input. However, as my garage looks like a tornado went through it, I will be spending much of this week fixing that situation. I will let you all know if I am successful or if I create an even bigger disaster.

You obviously haven't seen central Oklahoma. Whatever you have is just a mess that you created. What exists after a tornado is something that God didn't create, although he gets the blame, and it makes your mess look like mice nuts. Keep it in perspective and you will be able to fix almost anything you have created; time, patience, effort and help from people who will advise you along the way. Do not despair. These people in Moore, OK haven't. While you're at it send $10 to the Red Cross, designated to Oklahoma (or it will go to their general fund).

We went through Glenn Beck's Mercury One program, as all of it goes to the tornado victims. And yes, I am aware of what a real tornado does. Just a figure of speech.
