George, +1 on what Chuck said, that is one beautiful example!
I called about the Sawtrain and router table combo, just to ask some questions.
The combo is actually way cheaper than just buying the Sawtrain, and they had a March sale, and the price is still up.
The guy told me it will be changed on Monday, so if anyone wanted to pick the combo up now would be the time to do it.
I talked to a fella named Earnest and he was very pleasant, and knowledgeable. We even started talking routers. LOL
I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them.
John, aka. Pinkie. 1-520, 1-510 & a Shorty, OPR. 520 upgrade, Band Saw, Jig Saw, scroll saw, Jointer, Jointech Saw Train.:) Delta Benchtop planer, Makita LS1016L 10" sliding compound miter saw, Trojan manf. (US Made)Miter saw work center, MiniMax MM16 bandsaw.
Squire of the Shopsmith. ...hmmmm, maybe knave, pawn, or wretch would be more appropriate for me.:D

Okay, I'm lost! One minute we are talking mitre gauges the next router tables, jointech, router table combo's and etc.

Pinkie what router table combo are you talking about?

What probably needs to be done is split this thread into about 3 or 4.
One on Incra vs jointech, mitre gauge/sled, Router tables, Using Incra/jointech technology to make dovetails/box joints.

Hi Ed!
The link for the Jointech Sawtrain was listed in this thread so I went there and looked at it.
I was a bit confused because the site listed the SawTrain at about $800, while the SawTrain in combination with a router table was listed for under $600. ?
So I called the company, just because I was curious.
Was this a typo or what was going on.
That was how I began talking to Earnest. He works for the company that manufactures and distributes the Jointech products.
Earnest told me that the combination SawTrain and router table for the SS 520 was indeed cheaper than just the SawTrain as a solo product. So I was just passing along what he told me about the sale price in case anyone was interested.

Dusty, relax. I didn't buy one and I was within the subject matter discussed earlier in the thread. I know these are two of your pet peeves as you bring them up often on the forum. I'm sorry to bring it to your attention but you haven't had a problem "voicing" your opinion, so consider this a reply to your statement.

woodburner wrote:Hi Everyone,

Just out of curiosity, I am wondering how those who have purchased Incra products that fit on the Shopsmith like them.
I have all three:) (Incra Ultimate Fence/Router System, MiterSled 5000, Miter Gauge 2000, and some of Incra's Rulers) and they have turned my Shopsmith into one heck of a woodworking system.:D
I am just curious because I haven't seen any threads on the forum about them.
And I haven't seen any of them for sale on ebay either. Owners must be holding on to them because of how well they work with the Shopsmith.:D, or they sell really fast.
Anyone who wants to comment, I will be interested in reading what you have to offer in the way of comments/opinions.
Hi woodburner,Image
Just to reiterate; I like Incra products! I am glad that ShopSmith partnered with Incra to produce the SS friendly ones!

Ed & Dusty,
Looks like the original post pretty much covered the whole gambit of Incra tool offerings. I will admit that the Jointech slipped in there, but it is almost identical to the Incra Ultimate Fence/Router System and someone (I don't remember who) stated that; "that much precision wasn't needed in woodworking". So, I was simply stating my opinion that it may not be needed, but it's nice to have good looking joints when it is WANTED. To answer the original post... I agree that the Incra (and Jointech) systems are great!

Since my opinion is confusing, and apparently unwanted by some of you, I will now shut up and consider this forum as "read only".

pinkie, I am relaxed. At my age, I have learned that these little things must not be allowed to make me tense. But that doesn't mean I don't notice.

Now, about my TWO pet peeves. I know one of them is failing to stay on topic. I get more upset with myself than I do with others. Like right now, for example. But, what is the second to which you make mention?

Incidently, I have some Incra products and they are great. What they offer to me is repeatability more than accuracy. I have some of the older Incra products that I had to customize to use with my Shopsmith.

If I could afford the luxury, I would probably have most of what is now available from Incra for use with the Shopsmith. I don't need any of it because I don't craft anything that demands that sort of accuracy but it still excites me when I cut something and it is "right on".

Reible has some Incra stuff as well but right now he is all wrapped up in Jointech. They offer some equally exciting systems for use on the Shopsmith (and others or course).

The OPR is also on my list of things that I would add to my shop, if I could afford it. Actually, that list is quite long and I know you are not really interested in what I want or my financial inability to buy it so I'll drop that discussion right now.

However, there is a lesson in all of this that I hope many of you take to heart. While you are making the income and have some discretionary funds available to you - buy some of these things. There was a time when I could have spent $300-$400 a pay period for shop equipment and wouldn't have felt any pain. I regret not having done so. Don't follow in the same path or you'll also regret it like I do. Just make certain you are buying quality equipment. Twenty years from now you might not be able to buy parts.

Hi George,
Please have another look; I did not read into any of these responses that your opinion was not wanted:confused: . I for one enjoy yours and everyone elses. Both charlese and pinkie expressed their appreciation of your fine dovetail work that you created with the Jointech system. woodburner asked for comments, and IMHO yours was very appropriate.

Hi pinkie!
As I was not familiar with the Jointech system, I wanted to see it. I looked at every post of this thread several times and could not find that link. I finally did find it , but on this thread: https://forum.shopsmith.com/viewtopic.php?t=1580 , which is titled ULTIMATE Fence/Router System Package.Image
