Power Station Question

Could someone tell me the distance between the bottom of the front and back legs of the Power Station? I am guessing around 20". I am assembling the damaged Power Station I got a few years ago and the middle leg support brackets was missing. I will be making new brackets for an attachment/accessory shelf. Plus I am investigating if it is possible to install the 3" casters on the Power Station without extra modifications. Thanks.

The leg side braces mounting holes are 11" c-c.

Thanks. That is good information. However, I need the measurement at the leg bottom tip from the front of the front leg to the back of the back leg. Without the braces, I can spread the outsides of the legs from 19" to 21" so I need the actual distance so I have a standard distance to start from.

I will be using the 3" casters on my Power Station and will post the instructions and pictures on the Forum when done. No everyone may want to accomplish this change if any modification is needed to be done to the leg bolt holes, braces and caster spacer widths.

Mine are 19 3/4" with the little rubberized feet still on...

So with the legs spread so the middle brace mounting holes are 11" c-c, what do the legs measure. That is what you seek!]that[/B].

I be curious what your that measurement is.

That is some what I am asking. Since I have no middle brackets, I wanted to see if the 3" casters can be added by just drilling new holes in the legs. I will use some wood and screws to hold the legs for the first try. Even if there is a problem with the caster hitting the leg with the new screw holes, I will still post with pictures as to what action was required to use the 3" casters.

Temporarily clamp a 'brace' to the legs so that the middle brace holes are 11" c-c.

Then measure the spacing at the bottom ends of the legs.

Success. I was able to mount the 3" casters on my Power Station using the 7/16" spacers and 2" screws with the leg braces in place. The casters swivel 360 deg. at all the lift rod positions. I am amazed that Shopsmith does not offer this upgrade for the Power Station. Contact me if anyone desires or wants information on this upgade kit with template and drill bit.
