Shopsmith air compressor

Post by peterm »

I have had a SS Air System compressor (newer type) for sale locally on Kijiji for a couple of weeks at $135 without any inquiries at all.:(

What range of $$ do they sell for in the USA? I am apparently asking too much.

They go for close to that 'over here'. Try e-bay!

I gave $75 for my new style compressor at a used tool shop. But he was asking $150 but it sat there for two months and then I made the offer.

Thank you for the replies.

Since I paid $122 for it a couple years ago (included shipping) I think I will keep it (just used to inflate car tires that are "down" for which it works fine) and sell my other small non-SS one with tank, that will likely be an easier one to sell. Trying to make some room in my shop.

It is a 'rare' collector's item that has not only appreciated in value due to is greater age, but he got a great deal when he bought it!:D

Seriously it's small target market that makes selling it a chore(that and all us SS fanatics who only purchase bargains:D )!:(

I looked at it back in the mid 80's and I could see no use for this accessory ...so it stayed on the store shelf.

Not new, I bought it for $122 used from a friend, only blew up a couple of car tires with it and offered it for sale locally at $135, expecting to have to do some dickering on the price. Since it appears no local buyer is going to show up, I would rather keep it in my SS "collection" than let it go for much less in order to sell it.

I notice there has been one on ebay at $175 BIN but it is not moving either.
