Offered as a Mark V but when I asked for pics I received many good ones of a decent looking Mark VII:

It's God's way of keeping the rest of us from hating you. As we suffer through long, cold, gray winters, with nothing but our bargain-priced Shopsmiths standing between us and Seasonal Affective Disorder schizophrenia.skou wrote:Well, kinda. Still says Mark 5 in the description.![]()
Seriously, why doesn't Phoenix have these sales? Guys out here are, "well, SS is selling new ones for $3k, $2k is good enough here."

Pix helpful. Power switch has been replaced(one less unattainable thing to go bad in the future). Headstock feed 'clutch' missing release mechanism.(may be an indicator of bad/missing way tube gear rack. Missing vacuum 'blower'. Way/'lower' tubes need cleanup.
I assume 'everything works' includes a good speed control cam and way tube gear rack.
Sure is 'nice' to include the miter gauge!
A project for sure. I would not pay more than half that asking price.(assuming a good speed control cam).

At extreme risk of rubbing salt into an open wound, check out this deal: http://columbus.craigslist.org/bar/3983082863.htmlskou wrote:Dennis, come out and visit.
Bring your asbestos shorts!
It's almost 11:00 PM, and still above 100 degrees F!
Seriously, we have a rapidly aging retirement community here,
and SS stuff should be plentiful. (Yes, rapidly aging community
DOES include ME!):D

In case that link disappears (as it should very soon at the asking price), it's a very nice-looking 510 with a C-style headstock and casters, paint excellent, and just a patch or two of rust pitting on the bench tubes. It may or may not be missing the miter gage and accessories -- they are not shown in the photos. Asking $350! Wish I had room for it.

yeah that thing would already be in my garage if it were anywhere near me. I cant be too upset though, i picked up a newer scrollsaw, SPT base bracket, tenoning jig, and a huge IBM punchcard file for 160 yesterday. He had a fully upgraded bandsaw and jointer too, I called to ask what he would take for them 30 minutes later (when i saw the cost for the bandsaw fence/extension/circlecutter/cool blocks upgrades) but they were already gone. The punchcard file cabinet was for storing punch cards for very old computers prior to the days of floppy disks...its really heavy duty and each 'drawer' breaks up into four 6" wide by ~20" deep removable subdrawers. Perfect for stashing smaller parts / tools and I bet there are about 12 rows of drawers. Dont pass one up if you see one!BuckeyeDennis wrote:At extreme risk of rubbing salt into an open wound, check out this deal: http://columbus.craigslist.org/bar/3983082863.html(
