Thanks for the link to that review. I read it and consumer comments. If I get the belt and run a board through this machine, there is a distinct possibility I will decide to keep this planer. Not saying for sure, but I am more interested in keeping it now.
I agree. I received my planer and opened it up and it would not go up and down so my uncle and I played with it until it worked lose. Sorry I did that because a few months later the power drive motor quit working but it was still under warranty. If it is damaged in shipment, send it back to SS or file a claim with shipper as apparently they can't take to much shifting in shipment FYI
If this works, picture above is something that was with the planer. Any guesses as to what it is? (bag in lower right contains handle to mount on the arm)
