Without a speed reducer I don't think any Shopsmith makes a bowl lathe.

When I made my ER FrankenSmith, I did basically the same thing. I cut a piece of 2X6 to fit inside the base of the Mk5 headrest, with 10 degree bevels at each end. Fit perfectly. I drilled 2 holes in it, to use the bench tube bracket bolts, as well as using some construction (OK, sheetrock) screws in the holes on the sides, that attached the legs.

it is a shopsmith and looks pretty good condition no pics but if u go to craigslist grand rapids michigan and look under shopsmith or shop smith you can see it.

Bowl Turning Shopsmith

If you was going to set up a shorten Shopsmith just for bowl turning, you can quickly assembly a slow speed headstock with around 220 RPM as the SLOW speed. This is my file from my experience.[ATTACH]22561[/ATTACH]

Bowl Lathe

It is a Mark V setup. I don't have pics but go to Craigslist and type in shopsmith bowl lathe and I think it will come up. If it came with the tools and is as good as it looks I would probably buy it. I have 5 power stations and I really don't need it but it is cute and is SHOPSMITH lol.
