Stabilizing spalded maple

I have a large piece of spalted maple that I would like to turn. I am looking for information on how to stabilize the wood. I have heard of polycryl, but I have not ever used it.

I think you mean CA Glue, but it is very expensive to coat a large piece. There are also companies that will pressure treat this kind of wood and impregnate plastic into it. Normally it is very expensive but some of them offer special deals for hobbyists, since the machines are very large there is usually small spaces that go unused and they let woodworkers provide turning sized piece that they do for very minimal cost (as little as shipping). It has been a few years so I don't remember the sites you would have to search the web.

Two more things: Polycryl is not the same thing as CA glue. Additionally, Drew and were give two 5 gallon jugs of CA glue for which we have absolutely no use. (We were planning to glue all the cars to the parking lot on April 1, but it was raining.) If there's anybody out there that coud use this stuff, you pay the freight and it's yours.

I have been using CA for 10+ years and I don't think I have used 2 oz of real glue, usually the glue goes bad before I get near the bottom of the container. Once you open the jugs I guess you would have to use them quickly or divide it into a few hundred small containers.
