I used to like Glenn Beck, until I decided he was the reincarnation of PT Barnum disguised as a journalist. The Blaze is just his current circus.

Only three journalists I have any respect for: Jake Tapper with CNN (formerly with ABC News), John Stossel with Fox Business (formerly with ABC News) and Ben Swann, an independent (formerly with a local Fox TV affiliate in Cincinnati).

Oh I so agree. At least with Walter, we received a news report. Only occasionally did he give us a commentary.

If I wanted to listen to a lot of unsubstantiated opinions, I would listen to a talk show. Besides, I have my own opinions. A lot of them.

I had it easy when I was a pup ... the news media did a pretty good job of distinguishing between reporting and opinion/commentary/editorials. Nowadays, that line is generally hidden beneath huge mounds of fresh, steaming BS.

I try to teach my kids how to tell the difference. But what happens to all the kids that don't get that guidance? I'm guessing that they grow up to vote for the extreme lunatic fringe of one party or the other. And we get polarized, disfunctional government as a side-effect.

And now for a slightly different pet peeve: the mainstream network news media has to spend vast amounts of airtime promoting their network's entertainment fare, this thinly disguised as "news". Bet the real journalists just love that!

So I quit watching TV news a few years ago, coinciding with getting a high-bandwidth internet connection. So now, I don't have to suffer through the drivel. But I know for a fact that I miss learning about actual important stuff in a timely manner.

Did I mention that I miss Walter?

Nearly every political email I get I need to go Factcheck.org. Hopefully my trust in them is not too misplaced.

It is getting so that I can't remember that far back. Huntley, Brinkley and Cronkite - were there any others.

I do like to listen to Krauthammer though he is really not a journalist; he is a syndicated columnist, political commentator, and physician.

I also agree. If, while listening to a news personality, you can detect their political slant, they aren't doing it correctly. If you can even detect their opinion, in a news story, they're wrong.

With Walter, I couldn't. Except, he was a BIG fan of the space (Mercury through Shuttle) program. But so was I.

I have found out later, that Mr Cronkite had a rather heavy liberal belief, but his news stories NEVER reflected that.

Can't say the same for the current batch, in ANY medium.

I'm not sure this applies, because this situation of too many people needing parts, and not enough parts to supply them.

Which means, that someone was going to go without.

'Tis complicated. But, two things that make a difference: 1) that judge and the people involved are human, as opposed to the Obama Death Panels who are charged with being decidedly UN-human; 2) again, the judge was elected, or appointed by an elected person, or at least carries some responsibility (accountability), or at the most basic is someone whose name we know anaway, unlike the "mere citizens have no say in it" Death Panels.

And yes, at some levels we already have 'panels' that make some of these decisions, but they are supposed to use their brains, not a 'BO' check list. Guaranteed they aren't 100% Progressive Socialists either.

In keeping with the 'all lawyers' and 'not just demoncrats' theme, howabout this: impeach (seriously) ALL felons and everyone who defies, defiles and disobeys the Constitution.
How easy is that? Even BO fans can sit down and honestly list more than just one or two (one should do it) cases of Obama knowingly and deliberately breaking hos OATH to protect and defend the C, change laws unilaterally, circumvent Congress, et yada yada cetera.

Piece o cake. Just takes courage.
