My sister-in-law underwent chemotherapy over several months this passed year and it left her with numbness in her hands which has affected her ability to hold playing cards. Since my dear wife loves playing cards with her sister, and anybody else, she asked if I could make something to help her with the cards.
She was over the other day so I got out some scrap and experimented a bit. It took a piece of 3/4 wood about 2 inches wide by about 12 inches long with a saw kerf set at about a 1 degree angle to do the trick. She liked it and asked if I could make one for her grandson who has autisim and lacks full control of his hands. This time a piece of scrap MDF molding did the trick so she was happy on both counts.
Sometimes it is the simple things that can make people happy.
They left the house almost as soon as they were made so I guess you will just have to take my word for it.
However, my dear wife now says I should make one for our home so that when my SIL comes over there will be one here for her. Maybe then I'll post a picture.
