Towel holder

Post by reible »

First a little story. When I use to actually work, one of the tasks I would get assigned to was making up a budget for some experimental system based on knowing nothing. Well concept was know but that was about it.

There would be a small group doing this and because we did so well we got to do this many many times.

I mean these are blue sky guesses at best. We would start by say we need 100 people for the job. At the time the loaded rate was $150,000 per person.

Yes $15,000,000 and then line items for what we wanted to build/test/etc... most of these were large numbers but if we made the short list of project to get funded the real fun began. Details.

After having done these budgets we started to learn a few rules the people six layers above us played by. Then we started to have some fun. One of our favorite things were to add things like shop towels to the spread sheets. There would be this line item for $20.00, shop towels.

I guess they like our humor, or didn't notice it but we won most of the project, we thought it was humor but who knows.

I still to this day chuckle when I think about shop towels....

So on to the review.

There sitting on the shelf at the Menards store are magnetic paper towel holders. They also sell them at harbor freight, the Menards ones are black, harbor freight red. From the catalog observation they look pretty much the same except for color but hands on might review might prove other wise. So for this review we are talking the black ones at Menads.

The magnets make these useful for sticking on things like your tool box. Might want one for the kitchen? Maybe on the side of your SUV at a tail gait party? Lots of possible locations, I have them in the first two I listed.

They, there are two ends hold really well and unless you really really try they will provide towels no problem. Since there are two sides I was able to mount not only paper towels but also the blue towels that are not as wide but within the range of the holder.

I was also thinking that you could use them for coat hooks by rotating 90 degrees (knob up).

So how well did I like these. After my first one I went back and got one for each of my kids (3), one for the wife, one for each of my brothers (2). Total of 7 at $7 each. I guess I liked it pretty well! I'm also well on my way to finish my Christmas shopping this month.
