300 bucks for a 80s model 500 with jigsaw, beltsander, jointer, strip sander, planer, and bandsaw? It was a little beat up looking but if I were in FL I would have been all over it!

Two each Shopsmith Model 500, 505, 510s. Sawsmith Model 500003. Most of the SPT goodies aside from the compressor and the Planer.
I can't tell if it ended because it sold or the auction just ended...sad to see stuff neglected like that but for $300, definitely a steal even with the elbow grease to get it all purring again.

Several 'projects' there for sure! Maybe it will be re-listed.

That one slipped by me. I am not driving all over the state of Florida buying cheap Shopsmiths now. Only when they are super cheap like this one. I check Ebay almost every day so do not under stand how I missed it. I only do Craig's List a couple times a week.

Deal or o deal?
I went 80 miles to pick up a short for 150 today. But the best part I guess was I saw on CL an guy had a band saw on a dedicated power station for 150 on the way. No complaining but now I need a table too as I may make the shorty a kinda dedicated drill press if I need too.
Think i am going to contact Bill Mayo for instruction on reversing the motor for making it more usable.
I also purchase a 10ER this week in nice shape very reasonable. I believe it has the speed changer on it. A nice thing is it has the SS chisels and the original box they came in. Looks like I have my hands full and not complaining

It wasnt up for long, i saw it at work right before i left for the weekend but by the time i got home the kids had crashed the home computer. when i got that running again and checked on it (i was actually going to email you bill, it looked right up your alley!) it was no longer available. the seller looks like a resale shop so i imagine someone jumped on it locally or offered cash money in person to get around ebay fees.billmayo wrote:That one slipped by me. I appreciate the thought for letting me know about the Shopsmith. Yes, I still travel only in Florida for outstanding Shopsith buys these days. I find about one of these deals every couple of years but really have to be fast to take advantage of them. I find most need repairs to be functional which why they are cheap. I still have quite a lot of reconditioned headstock parts that I use too rebuild these bargains.apexsunguitars wrote:It wasnt up for long, i saw it at work right before i left for the weekend but by the time i got home the kids had crashed the home computer. when i got that running again and checked on it (i was actually going to email you bill, it looked right up your alley!) it was no longer available. the seller looks like a resale shop so i imagine someone jumped on it locally or offered cash money in person to get around ebay fees.
