Hmm. Adjustable angle, eh? The 45 degree sled still looks awkward, too. Howsabout a sled of 22.5 degrees, and a table tilt of 22.5 also too as well. Workpiece level. Gravity under control. Adjustable table. Miter gauge safe (?).

Back to cut 45s.
I was giving JUST the 45 degree cut some thought as was wondering if anyone had thought about using one of the large 45 degree router bits. There are some out there that could chamfer/bevel a 1" thick piece of stock. Are they precise enough? That allows you to use the table for the stock and maybe some feather boards, other hold downs to keep the piece from slipping and still get a precised edge.
It isl late, but that thought as been rumbling around for a couple days now as I check back on this thread.
I have two critical cuts on my project, 45 and 22 1/2. Thinking of asking Whiteside if they have or would build me a 22 1/2, if t were precise enough.
Anyway, reason(s) why this wouldn't work would be appreciated.
