Interesting Shopsmith day yesterday. My son found a Goldie jointer with some accessories for $50. I figure the blades are worth most of that price. It came with a 9" aluminum disc. Any idea where that fits in Shopsmith history?
I treated my son to a trip to Lowes to see the Mark 7 demo. A Power Pro is definitely in my future. I had a nice visit with Dave Folkerth who provided some interesting insight into Shopsmith history.
I told him I had also watched the Doug Reid webinar but he told me to make sure to call him when I was ready! I am probably a few months away so we will see which way I go.

Do call Dave! I met him at a Lowes demo. I liked his manner(in spite of saying his middle name was Smith)!:D
I assume commission is what he works for!;)

The 10ER came with a 12 inch aluminum disc sander as did the early Mark 5's. I believe the Mark VII used a 10 inch disc. I think the SawSmith may have used a 9 inch disc.
I purchased my PP upgrade through Doug as he offered the same prices as the Lowes Demo and there was no sales tax at the time of purchase like there would have been at Lowes.

Not at home, away from my 50's sales literature, but I think you are correct re 9" = saw smith. I recall it is in there, but do not recall if it was saw smith only. The Mark VII had a 10" flat on one side, and conical on the back side.
